Members may enter the following competitions:
1. CLUB 4 WOOD SINGLES (21 shots) - Open to all members.
2. LADIES 2 WOOD SINGLES (21 shots) - Open to all lady members. The winner will go forward to represent the Club in the County Singles the following season.
3. GENTS 2 WOOD SINGLES (21 shots) - Open to all male members. The winner will go forward to represent the Club in the County Singles the following season.
4. NEVER WON 4 WOOD SINGLES (21 Shots) - Open to all members who have never won a singles competition whilst a member of Farnsfield Bowling Club.
5. 100 UP SINGLES - Open to all members. A 4-wood event in which 10 points will be available on each end played, ie. winning bowl 4 points, 2nd bowl 3 points, 3rd bowl 2 points and 4th bowl 1 point. The winner is the first to reach 100 points.
6. GENTS 2 WOOD PAIRS (18 ends) - Open to all male members. Partners will be drawn in May.
7. MARRIED 2 WOOD PAIRS (18 ends) - Open only to married couples.
8. MIXED 4 WOOD PAIRS (18 ends) - Open to all members. Married members cannot play with their partners. When entering this competition ladies and gents should specify the partner with whom he or she will be playing.
9. AUSSIE 4 WOOD PAIRS (18 ends) - Open to all members. Partners will be drawn in May.
FORMAT:
End 1, Player 1 bowls 2 woods, Player 2 bowls 4 woods, Player 1 bowls 2 woods
End 2, Player 2 bowls 2 woods, Player 1 bowls 4 woods, Player 2 bowls 2 woods
Until 18 ends have been played.
10. LADIES 2 WOOD PAIRS (18 ends) – Open to all lady members. Partners will be drawn in May.
11. CLUB OPEN TRIPLES - Open to all members. Pre-entry is not required. Triples will be drawn on Finals Day. The format is normally a round robin event of 4 to 6 matches of about 5 ends per match depending on the numbers that turn up on the day.
All competition finals will be scheduled to play on Finals Day. The date of Finals Day is in the fixtures list.
The rules for the competitions are:
a. All matches are to be played by arrangement by the date specified on the competitions board.
b. The first named member is responsible for arranging the date with their opponents.
c. The first named member is responsible for choosing and setting up the rink.
d. For singles competitions, the first named member is responsible for identifying a marker.
e. If a member is unable to play, they may be replaced by another member who has not already taken part in that competition. That member will continue to play for the remaining stages of the competition. They may not be replaced if no longer able to play.
f. The dress code for the qualifying stages of the competitions is greys.
g. The dress code for Finals Day is whites, except for those in the Club Open Triples, who shall wear greys.
h. Any queries or disagreements should be referred to the competitions’ manager, whose decision is final.
i. The trophies are the property of the club and shall be returned at least a week before Finals Day.
