Short Mat Bowling
Following on from the recent clubhouse extension (funded by the John & Nellie Brown Trust), Farnsfield Bowling Club Committee proudly announce the arrival of Short Mat Bowling.
Two short mats were generously presented to the club by East Bridgford Bowls Club as they replaced their own, enabling our first session to take place in October 2010 attended by 27 members.
Club Chairman Stan Chadwick said “ Bowls in the village will not go into hibernation and members will not have to travel to keep their eye in during the winter. We can rollup right throughout the year”.
Sessions are now held on Tuesday afternoons, Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings in winter.
Dress is informal, and normal bowls are used but players are asked to wear flat soled shoes or slippers to save undue wear on the mats.. A very enjoyable and sociable way of spending an afternoon with friends. Come and join us – you wll be made very welcome.
