Spring Village Match 2022

Congratulations and well done to the five teams that competed in the Farnsfield Bowling Club Spring Village Match. Two teams from the WI and two teams from the Church competed with a team from the Cheeky Pig on a chilly but dry afternoon. The match was finally won by the team from the Cheeky Pig.

This event is held for the organisations in the village, which can enter teams of four players. Anyone can play, whether they have ever bowled or not. All that is needed is a pair of flat shoes; all other equipment is provided,

There will be another chance for organisations to enter teams in our end of season Village Match on Sunday 11th September. Come along for a fun afternoon, when hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder. If you want to enter a team please contact the Secretary This email address is being protected from spambots. Opening of the green 2022

The Green was opened on a sunny but windy Saturday afternoon and 23 members enjoyed a great competitive roll up.

The Green was in excellent condition thanks to Ross, Andy and the crew, so the members are looking forward to a full season of bowling, the first in 3 years.

Farnsfield Bowling Club 2022 Season

The new bowling season will soon be upon us and after the last two years of lockdown and uncertainty, the members are looking forward to getting out on to the green once more.

The Green will be opening on Saturday 23rd April at 2.00pm with a roll up, to which all members are invited.

Our qualified coach, Paul Ritchie, will be holding a refresher session on May 2nd for those who attended the full coaching course last year. This is especially aimed at those who attended but for whatever reason did not become full members. He will then run a full free 6 week course for non members, or current members who wish to brush up on their technique, commencing on Monday 9th May. After this any new participants can join the Tuesday and Thursday roll-up sessions for 3 weeks free of charge. They can then become full members for a reduced fee of £10 for the remainder of the year.

The Club holds an annual "Village Match", where all organisations within the village are invited to enter teams for a fun afternoon of competition, regardless of whether they have ever bowled or not. This year's event will be held on Sunday 11th September. It is also planned to hold an early season "Village Match" in the same format on Sunday 1st May.

Membership of the Club is open to all, regardless of age or gender. All bowls equipment can be provided free of charge to start you off; all you need is a pair of flat soled shoes (trainers).

We participate in several leagues so there is plenty of scope for novices and those who wish to take part at a more competitive level.

If you are interested in joining, please contact our coach Paul Ritchie (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or our Secretary, Nadina Lincoln (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). You can be assured of a warm welcome.
