Farnsfield celebrated VJ Day on Saturday August 15th and the bowls club joined in with a skittles stall which was well attended and served to promote the club.
Vic Atkinson and Alan Thompson manned the stall doing an excellent job of helping to advertise our great facility which is open to all.
The Club “Trips” competition was held on Sunday 19th July, perfect conditions and good bowling. The competition was superbly organised as usual by Ron Wright and everyone enjoyed the afternoon. The top two teams on the day that go through to the finals on Sat 5th September were Eric Webster, Glenys Bates,Trevor Tarbox and Trevor Gregg, Audrey McGrath and Marilyn Tarbox.
On Monday 29th June the "Beginners" of Farnsfield and Southwell Bowling Clubs got together at Farnsfield for a pairs competetive "Roll Up". The competition was excellent, everyone enjoyed it and the standard of bowling was a credit to both clubs coaches.
Marilyn and Paul teamed up with Steve Dickins of Southwell for the club open "Trips" competition on Sunday 28th June. They were runners up in their division winning 3 out of the 5 matches, well done to the team and well done to Southwell Bowls Club for a great day.
